SUMMARY

Golden Memories is a holistic digital platform designed to support seniors with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) by promoting cognitive health, social connection, and personalized care. The app integrates memory games, daily reminders, progress tracking, and a social space that connects users with caregivers and fellow seniors. Its elder-friendly interface uses intuitive icons, inspiring messages, and simplified navigation to reduce digital barriers. The concept aims to empower seniors to manage their wellness independently while facilitating collaboration between elder care centers, healthcare professionals, and families — helping to slow dementia progression through engagement and routine.

PROJECT GALLERY

In collaboration with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), my team and I developed Golden Memories (金记忆) following our on-site visits to Memory Home (记忆家) and a local elderly care center in Shanghai, where we conducted a case study to identify key challenges faced by seniors. Under the mentorship of Professor Huang Shao Ying, we designed an elder-friendly mobile application aimed at slowing cognitive decline among dementia patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). The gallery below showcases our design process, from early insights to the final prototype that reimagines accessible and engaging elderly care.
