SUMMARY

Campus Cupid addresses the gap between casual, looks-driven dating apps and students who want intentional, long-term relationships. University students face superficial swiping, limited cross-campus circles, time constraints, and uneven emotional availability—leading to burnout and missed genuine connections. The solution - a students-only platform with strict verification, a values/goals-based matching algorithm, and tools that make real dates easy (event and date-idea suggestions). An AI chatbot offers emotional support and guidance, while a mutual intimacy feature (icebreaker questions) helps couples deepen connection. Together, these features promote safer, more authentic, and meaningful relationships across campuses.

PROJECT GALLERY

Campus Cupid is a student-built dating platform for university communities that prioritises values and personality over looks. The product uses student-only authentication, text-only profiles, and a friendly AI “Dr. Cupid” chatbot to guide users with advice and encouragement. Beyond swiping, it helps people meet offline through group events and a Date Picker, and keeps couples organised with calendar-synced plans.

In user experiments (n=20 across two universities), participants took ~2.8s longer to decide without profile photos, indicating deeper consideration of personality content—evidence that informed our final text-only Compass page after three design iterations (paper → web prototype → refined UI).The gallery below showcases our solution and details of our experimental design and analysis.
